A lot of lies about magpies, from the ‘Lies About Birds’ series. (Scroll down to read the text.) Illustrated with a poor photograph of a paper bird I have made out of old RSPB magazines.
A4 print, mounted (and put in a cellophane bag to prevent escapes).
(Please note that, regretfully, I don’t send work outside of the UK.)

“Magpies are the glamorous film stars of the garden, suave, a little dangerous, perfectly groomed and, in flight, the epitome of timeless elegance. Concerns that these darlings of the black-and-white movies would be ‘finished’ with the advent of colour film proved completely unfounded. When correctly lit, a magpie’s subtle iridescence lights up a room with delectable greens, purples and reds. Male magpies, in formal dinner jacket and tie, traditionally woo their prospective mates over candle-lit dinners, speaking softly and showing off their white bits. At the correct moment the male will fan his tail and the female will swoon, get something in her eye or twist and ankle. They make perfectly enviable couples, living in huge untidy mansions, very much in love and raising beautiful if rather dependent young. Contrary to current gossip, magpies absolutely do collect shiny things. Awards mainly, large gold-coloured figurines preferred.”
